C-u people!!
Andreas
Hello everyone! And of course merry Christmas and all the wishes! :D

I am trying to organize my work here in dA lately. Now I found the time to group and upload a few new works.

The title of the project is "Double Exposures". People blending with their creations. I photographed a few friends in open environment (not studio) and then I rewinded the film and I photographed scenes around technical structures and buildings in the same frames. So the end result is a series of double exposures combining a portrait of some kind with a structure/industrial setting, interposing the man blended with his creations. Film used Kodachrome 64 slide.

Hope you like it. Here is the folder: [link]

Lately I have bee playing a lot with a lomo fisheye camera. Quite funny and quite different.

So let me present you a small project that is still (and probably always be) a work in progress. :)

Have a nice day!

Andreas
Hi everybody!

As much as I want to be around here, it seems that real life is getting (at last) overwhelming!! I just need each day to have 30 hours instead of 24! So that I can sleep a little bit more!!

So after camping in the National Park of Samaria Gorge ( [link] ), after the amazing "Moon on the Wheel" (Φεγγάρι στη Ρόδα - [link] ) that had us running like crazy with bicycles around my town, we had to prepare and set up a photography festival in Chania ( [link] ) that ended just a few days ago! During the festival I had a couple of photos in the exhibition and a presentation of a slideshow from my (photography) work from India!

Now I am working like crazy to meet a few deadlines at work, because tomorrow I'm leaving for a trip to Barcelona!

At least I hope that in the end of this, I'll have photos to share with you when I get back!

Cu soon!!
Andreas

ps. for Europeans... dont believe whatever propaganda you hear on the news. I can assure you that tomatoes are still growing, flies are flying and the sea still has salt water no matter the euro situation. :)
This is the night that democracy in Greece has faded. Along with hope.

Spaniards, Italians, Irish, Portuguese, this is for you. Give a hell of a fight and stand prouder than what we managed.

I'm sorry I didn't do anything more. You still have a chance. Now you know what is coming.

Goodbye,
Andreas

Hope you are all doing well. And by the way.... Happy New Year to you all!!!

Andreas
Hello everyone,

I just realized that I turned 6 here in dA and it so happened that I passed the 60k pageviews...

Maybe I'm not so active, at least as active as I had been in previous years, maybe I could say a bitter thing or two about dA.

But in the end, what remains is good. Memorable. And I feel obliged to what dA has offered me through the years.

dA has motivated me, has helped me to learn a lot of things concerning photography in a much faster and friendlier way that it would have otherwise been. I found some incredible people in here. People that are not just "virtual" or "online" friends. They are very very real ones, that I keep on spending a lot of my actual time with.

I feel I "matured" a lot in dA. Maybe this is a reason that I view it as a little bit inadequate these days, however I'll always respect it. There are people with real talent here. And even if I feel that I need something different or more, there are always moments of inspiration and glimpses of greatness around here.

To make a long story short, many thanx to dA for those 6 years and many more to the people that I met or "met" through this community.

Keep on rockin',
Andreas
Just a post to make a presence. I'm here, not really active, but watching out. I'm trying to sort and rebuilt my life at the moment, I hope I'll be able to post some work again sooner than later. Keep an eye on the blog, it's easier to post there as I feel I have to be more selective on what I upload on dA.

Hope you are all doing well,
Andreas

So if I go out and punch a member of the parliament, it is called an attack on democracy.

If the same member of the parliament asks the police:
to hit me till I end up in a coma in the hospital
to spread me with forbidden chemicals and gases till I faint
to drag me to court with fake charges
to put fire on the medical tent that a doctor treats me

it is called:
keeping the order
putting a minority to rest
fight for the good of the country
protect the innocent

and above all

it is called protection of democracy.

O tempora o mores!

Live your myth in Greece,
Andreas
A new camera system will be introduced that you'll be able to focus after you have taken the photo... link to blog.

I wonder when the photographer will become obsolete.... :D

Cheers to everyone!
Andreas
For anyone living or planing to visit Chania, I'm participating in a group photo exhibition that starts tomorrow. The theme is "Public Spaces" and I'll have a set of 4 photos.

The exhibition is held at the Neorio of Moro and the opening is tomorrow at 21.00. So... I'll see you there or wish me luck! :D

Adios,
Andreas
Lately I have been scanning my collection of Kodachrome slides. For some inexplicable reason there seems to be some magic surrounding film... while using worse equipment, in the end I manage to capture more interesting photos in film than I have ever managed to capture with a digital camera. I hope I can adapt at some point.

The other interesting thing is that this time I have decided to pay proper respect to my films and scan selected images at a professional service. Nice to see 6000 dpi professional scans from your slides... approximately 43Mpixel files (something in the order of 100+ MB tiffs). Let's see maybe there is a chance to make some nice large prints in the near future (would anyone of you care for one? :D :D).

Adios,
Andreas
